22degreehalo: The main characters of The Shape of Water, coloured like they're on an alien planet. (strange)
So, this is my first time participating in an icon challenge! It's definitely been fun trying out a new technique and getting some more practice! All icons are from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend!

01.02.03.04.05.
06.07.08.09.10.
Voting: Sure!

And also a couple of alternates plus two more I made while I was there:

(This also counts for [community profile] snowflake_challenge day 10! :P)
22degreehalo: Souma from Ensemble stars sitting on a giant turtle, smiling, while multicoloured fish swim all around (Ensemble Stars)
Day 7

Stretch yourself a little and try something new. Go play in a new fandom or with a new pairing. Try working in a new medium. Or check out some fanworks that are new to you. (The recs from Day 2 might be a good place to start.) Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

So, I tend to kind of end up doing different kinds of things in general because my adhd ass brain LOVES to try new things lol, and as it happens on this day I happened to end up mentally planning something not just new but also excrutiatingly niche (it's... a CYOA image game thing based around making an Ensemble Stars character???) so... I think that counts!! n.n;;

Day 8
In your own space, post self-recs for at least three fanworks that you created. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Mmmm... had to spend a bit of time thinking about what I'd do for this one. n.n;; But, it is important to me to be able to think that the things I'm creating are sort of good and might actually be enjoyable by other people? So, I'm going to assume that's the case and talk about some stuff I've done this past year here!

My favourite fic published this year is undoubtedly don't bother calling (I'll call you), a genfic revolving around aroace!Jughead and his relationship with Archie. I was inspired really strongly by the second volume of the reboot comic series for this one as it really hit some incredibly strong a-spec feels in me, which left me wanting to make some more a-spec work myself. However I haven't written much of that in the past so I was pretty intimidated... but once I came up with the idea for this one, I couldn't let it go. In the end I'm really pleased with how it turned out - I got to express soooo many feelings through it so it feels kind of self-indulgent, but I got a whole heap of reviews saying they almost never relate to fiction as strongly as this, so I think this is a case where self-indulgence is not just acceptable, it's actively needed! :)

For my second rec: due to various circumstances I actually ended up drawing some bigger pictures again this year, after not doing so for yeaaaars beforehand? And even coloured them digitally, which I've never done at all?? All because I was inspired by Lovestruck's Fanhearts challenge and wanted to take part and show my love for the characters! Unfortunately neither of them made their way into the fanwork gallery, but I'm still pretty pleased at having been able to do something a bit different! :) So, here's the second and more ambitious picture I did, featuring Iseul and the main character from Love & Legends (which is a Really Great high fantasy otome game I highly recommend!!)

Plus another rec further down: icons! )
22degreehalo: A side character from Beauty and the Beast 2017, immediately after he was focibly dressed in women's clothes and make-up, looking up happily (happy)
So I was browsing Etsy and came across Riotcakes, a store which had some really iconable queer and feminist buttons, so I decided to go ahead and make those icons!

I don't mind about being credited myself, but please do credit the original artist!
