Monthly Australian Prompts

So hi!!! This is completely random (and I promise I intend to get back to
snowflake_challenge once I'm done being distracted), but: have you ever noticed how 'monthly prompts' for fandom events are literally always based in the Northern Hemisphere?
I'm not really complaining per se: that's where the majority of people writing fandom stuff (in English, anyway) reside!! But there is a certain level of assumed seasonal universality that has always very mildly bugged me.
So, today (for whatever reason) I finally decided to come up with my own, hyper-Australian prompts: five for each month of the year! :D
Firstly, they were inspired by the monthly prompts given for the Fanfic Reading Challenge I've talked about earlier, where the idea is to read a fanfic with a title or summary containing on of these words. Thus I've tried to make them pretty general (with one or two more specific ones for an extra challenge), so they could theoretically be used for finding already-existing works rather than creating your own new ones. And secondly, these really are very specifically Australian: sorry to everyone else in the Southern Hemisphere!!
And lastly, I'm not running any kind of actual event with these, haha: I just came up with them and figured I should share them :)
So here you go, and feel free to suggest any other words if you think they'd work better (or for anyone who wants a longer list) or ask questions if there's anything that you're confused about!!
1. January
- beach, fire, invasion, first, together
2. February
- school, hat, pride, rainbow, banana
3. March
- mad, storm, sting, hatch, harmony
4. April
- cross, war, remember, dawn, ash
5. May
- fish, barrier, reconcile, sorry, mother
6. June
- king, birthday, vivid, native, land
7. July
- rain, wind, south, light, mourn
8. August
- mountain, snow, whale, bloom, ray
9. September
- swoop, bird, wattle, strawberry, father
10. October
- game, final, work, labour, trade
11. November
- tree, purple, cup, race, poppy
12. December
- wine, sun, holiday, bat, swim
