Yeah, just no one has any idea whether or not a blanket ban on AI is in any way helpful because they see no in-between between (lol) “no AI” and “got AI to write the whole thing for you”. Like, what if you:
- Had AI come up with a title for you, or help come up with a title? - Had AI help write/write the entire summary? - Had AI help with tagging? - Used it to generate a couple of sentences to get out of writers’ block? - Used it to come up with ideas? - Used an AI/LLM-powered spelling/grammar check, like Grammarly? - Wrote the entire thing without AI, but used it to translate/help translate into another language? - Had AI reword some sentences, like “can you make this creepier/sexier/cuter/more suspicious-sounding/a million other things?”
And combine that with the fact that, at least for text, there’s no real reliable way to tell if something was AI-generated, meaning any anti-AI witch hunts will basically wind up punishing people for being bad/cliche writers… Not good!
